We're here to promote road safety through culture.
Nearly 95% of Americans drive. But whether you’re commuting to work on a bike, cruising through the canyons with the guys and gals, or taking the bus to the grocery store, we all use the public road system at some capacity to live our lives. Sadly, even with the technological safety advances that we have today, roughly 40,000 people are killed on US roads every year. Young drivers are at especially high risk, with motor vehicle crashes being the leading cause of death for teens in the US.
We believe in the importance of building good road habits from the start. PSAs are all well and good, but nothing is as effective as instilling safety into the culture.
So buckle up, dummy - join us on our journey to show everyone that #safetyissexy💥
Road fatalities in the US are trending in the wrong direction.
After reaching an all-time low in 2014, road fatalities started trending back up in the mid-2010s and even made a major 10% jump from 2020-2021 (FARS).

We can all learn safer road behaviors to become better citizens of our shared roadways.

Young drivers are at highest risk.
Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for US teens (CDC), and drivers in this age group have a fatal crash rate nearly 3x higher than drivers aged 20 years and older (IIHS).

The elevated crash risk extends to drivers up to age 24, who have a significantly higher crash rate per mile than drivers aged 25+ (IIHS).
Injecting awareness via culture.
While existing safety organizations and advocacy groups focus on reaching the public through traditional means, BIG DUMMY CO believes in gaining community buy-in from making safety cool 😎

Building a safe space.
BIG DUMMY CO is intended to be a community effort, rooted in collaboration. We wouldn't be here without the decades of hard work that the industry has put into research and advocacy.

That's why a portion of our proceeds are reserved for engagement with long-standing safety organizations to expand our reach.

Whether you're an artist, designer, social media guru, or if you just believe in the message as much as we do, we'd love to work with you!
